NGO Emmaüs’ headquarters
Montreuil, France
2011 Offices
Winner of the 2008 emmaus competition to construct their new headquarters, the agency transformed an old administrative building of 2 200 m2 into a place that no longer resembles an administrative building on a low budget. The office space is open, punctuated with functional white blocks as to provide recesses for exchanges. Common spaces are allocated on different levels. The polycarbonate coating used for exterior renovation has been transformed into a window overlooking the city. Lodgings have been created to house visitors. A simple room was set aside for abbé pierre, which is now occupied by the caretaker of the building.
